The PrepMD Professionals ProStart Candidate Interview Process

A virtual interview with PrepMD Professionals

Upfront Unpaid Training Period: ProStart candidates must complete the required online learning, in-person training, and proficiency assessment, which includes approximately 3 months of online learning and 1-month hands-on workshop in Boston. This total training commitment is expected to take most candidates about 4 months to complete.

Geography Placement Flexibility: Once the ProStart Candidate has completed the requisite training they receive their placement assignment. This is when the candidate starts his/her job as a PrepMD Professionals Cardiac Device Specialist and the 2-year employment contract and $60,000 salary begins. Placement assignments locations vary in healthcare systems across the U.S. throughout the year as a cardiac device specialist. Geographic placement flexibility by the candidate is required.

Costs: ProStart is a scholarship-based opportunity whereby PrepMD Professionals sponsors the cost of the training for selected candidates. As a security to PrepMD, the Candidate is required to make a $2,500 payment to gain access to the online learning material and a second $2,500 payment to reserve space and attend the one-month hands-on workshop. The candidate additionally will have housing expenses during the one-month stay in Boston. Upon completion of the training and when the candidate starts work as a PrepMD Professionals Cardiac Device Specialist a $5,000 sign-on bonus will be paid.

Professional Development: During the employment period the employee maintains access to all online learning and certification test-taking resources for further career and professional development.

Cardiac Device Specialist

PrepMD Professionals LLC is seeking to hire candidates as Cardiac Device Specialists working in a healthcare setting in a contract staffing role. These jobs are in high demand and there is a strong need for experienced or trained and professionally developed individuals in these roles.

The Cardiac Device Specialist is employed by PrepMD Professionals and is contracted with a healthcare provider, and is responsible to provide clinical, technical, and related services in Electrophysiology and Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED’s). These individuals work closely with the physicians and patients providing high standard of care in a cardiology setting.

Candidates are REQUIRED to have placement geographic flexibility to relocate and U.S. work authorization.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Does full evaluation and assessment of patients with pacemakers, ICD’s, CRT devices and ILR’s; Reprograms devices as required.
  • Enrolls, interrogates, and programs patients with cardiac devices and recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions, and alert indicators.
  • Assists in scheduling patients for follow up, remote monitoring, or replacement as indicated.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the healthcare team to respond to patients, plan, and initiate timely and efficient care.

Cardiac Device Specialist Roles and Responsibilities

  • Educates patients and families regarding device function and remote and/or clinic follow up scheduling.
  • Ensures timely and proper documentation and billing.
  • Participates in the device recall team if necessary.
  • Supports all aspects of documentation in the electronic CIED reporting system and the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Maintains knowledge of hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and requirements.
  • Is available to perform duties in satellite and affiliate device clinics as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Placement geographic flexibility for relocation is required
  • U.S. work authorization is required
  • Strong communication skills and analytical skills
  • Current college Seniors or recent graduates
  • Prefer Engineering/Science/Health Science/Business majors with a minimum 3.0GPA
