In today’s episode, we speak with Nick Spadea-Anello, Global President of Structural Heart at Boston Scientific. In our conversation, Nick shares his leadership and mentorship philosophy, what he describes as the three phases of a career, goal vs. growth orientation, and how he benchmarks success.
Nick has a 28-year track record of building winning teams, pioneering new therapies, and growing new businesses, starting with Johnson and Johnson, followed by Guidant corporation and subsequently Boston Scientific. Nick’s experience driving adoption in a then emerging cardiac resynchronization therapy helped inform his decision to transition to the structural heart space, where he led a team through US commercial launch and expansion of left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) therapy. He is currently responsible for driving R&D, operational, and strategic efforts across the globe.
Boston Scientific is a global medical device company dedicated to collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop a broad portfolio of meaningful innovations that improve outcomes, reduce costs, increase efficiencies.
