April 2025 (online training is February 24-April 18, 2025; in-person training is April 21-May 16,2025)

July 2025 (online training is June 2-July 25, 2025; in-person training is July 28-August 22, 2025)

October 2025 (online training is September 1-October 24, 2025; in-person training is October 27-November 21, 2025)

The In-Clinic Solutions Program Candidate Interview Process

Upfront Unpaid Training Period: In-Clinic Solutions Program (ICSP) candidates must complete the required training period and proficiency assessments, which includes 2 months of online learning and 1-month hands-on workshop in Boston (a $21,000 value.) While training in-person, the candidate will receive a weekly allowance for food and accommodations.

Assignment Types:

Cardiac Device Specialists are employed by PrepMD in one of three ways:

  • In-person at hospitals or cardiac clinics partnered with PrepMD
  • Remote as part of PrepMD’s Remote Monitoring Solutions team
  • Hybrid, combining both in-person and remote work

Geography Placement Flexibility: Once the ICSP Candidate has completed the required training and successfully passed all assessments, they receive their assignment. Their first day “in the field” is when the candidate starts his/her job as a PrepMD Cardiac Device Specialist and the 1-year employment contract kicks-off. The base salary for this position is $60,000 per year + tax-allowances for food and accommodation expenses during the 4-week period in Boston. Assignments locations vary across the U.S. FULL geographic flexibility by the candidate is required as the assignment location is chosen based on company needs. As mentioned above, the assignment may be in-person, remote or hybrid according to the company’s needs.

Costs: In-Clinic Solutions Program (ICSP) is full-time job with PrepMD where the company  sponsors the employee and covers the cost of the training for selected candidates. As a security to PrepMD, the Candidate is required to sign the Training Investment Agreement, which outlines financial consequences should the candidate breach the contract. Additionally, since the candidate is receiving the training ($21,000 value) for free, he/she does not receive compensation during the online and in-person training phases. During the in-person training, PrepMD provides a set daily allowance to help with accommodation and food expenses. Upon successfully completing the training, passing the assessments, and receiving their assignment, the candidate starts work as a PrepMD Cardiac Device Specialist and starts receiving their full-time salary and benefits.

Professional Development: During the employment period, the employee maintains access to all online learning and certification test-taking resources for further career and professional development.

Cardiac Device Specialist

PrepMD is hiring Cardiac Device Specialists to work in healthcare settings. These roles are in high demand, with a growing need for experienced, trained, and professionally developed candidates.

Cardiac Device Specialists are employed by PrepMD in one of three ways:

  • Supporting our In-Clinic Solutions Team, in-person at hospitals or cardiac clinics partnered with PrepMD
  • Supporting our Remote Monitoring Team, remotely
  • Hybrid, combining both in-person and remote work

These specialists are responsible for delivering high-quality clinical, technical, and related services in Cardiac Rhythm Management and Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs).

The responsibilities of the Cardiac Device Specialist are outlined below in the Job Description.

Candidates are REQUIRED to have full geographic flexibility to relocate within the U.S., be willing to sign a contract agreeing to work for PrepMD for at least 1 full year, and must also possess U.S. work authorization (be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Job Description

The responsibilities of the Cardiac Device Specialist may include:

IN-CLINIC SOLUTIONS TEAM SUPPORT:

  • Does full evaluation and assessment of patients with pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices and ILRs; Reprograms devices as required
  • Enrolls, interrogates, and programs patients with cardiac devices and recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions, and alert indicators
  • Assists in scheduling patients for follow up, remote monitoring, or replacement as indicated
  • Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the healthcare team to respond to patients, plan, and initiate timely and efficient care
  • Educates patients and families regarding device function and remote and/or clinic follow up scheduling
  • Ensures timely and proper documentation and billing
  • Participates in the device recall team if necessary
  • Supports all aspects of documentation in the electronic CIED reporting system and the Electronic Medical Record
  • Maintains knowledge of hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and requirements
  • Is available to perform duties in satellite and affiliate device clinics as needed

REMOTE MONITORING TEAM SUPPORT:

  • Performs alert triage according to guidelines provided by the client, using the client’s EHR systems to understand available patient historicals
  • Provides prompt, same-day notification of all actionable/urgent alert items to the client throughout the normal operating hours of the clinic
  • Provides high quality reports that align with client’s specifications
  • Maintains the client’s database system through updating new patient encounters on a daily basis
  • Periodically meets with the client in an effort to continuously improve services and client satisfaction
  • Reconciles the device manufacturer websites (dismissing transmissions) after they have been completed
  • Performs any and all other duties directed by their manager

HYBRID SUPPORT:

  • A combination of both mentioned above

Qualifications:

  • 100% FULL geographic flexibility to work anywhere in the U.S.
  • 100% flexibility to work either onsite, remote or hybrid assignments
  • Willingness to commit at least 1 full year of employment post-training completion
  • Training or experience in the cardiac medical device field (specifically CIEDs) required
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required with a GPA of 3.0+
  • Strong communication skills and analytical skills
  • Background in Engineering, Science, or Health Science (strongly preferred)

The In-Clinic Solutions Program:

The PrepMD In-Clinic Solutions Program provides an opportunity to enter the high-demand career space of cardiac medical devices. PrepMD invests in the learning and professional development of the candidate, providing access to cardiac medical device learning resources, followed by a full-time opportunity.

Required Training: ICSP candidates must complete the required online learning and  in-person trainings, and pass all proficiency assessments, which includes approximately 2 months of online training and a 1-month hands-on training in Braintree, MA. This total training commitment is expected to take most candidates about 3 months to complete.

Placement Assignment: Once the ICSP Candidate has completed the required training and passed all assessments, they receive their placement assignment. This is when the candidate starts his/her job as a PrepMD Cardiac Device Specialist for at least 1 year and the employment contract, salary and benefits begin. Placement assignment locations and assignment type vary according to what’s outlined in the Job Description.
