Work with PrepMD Professionals Career and Placement Services
I just wanted to thank y'all for helping me out these last few months. Whether it was helping me get started, understanding the material, helping me with the programmers, or helping me find a job, I couldn't have gotten where I'm at now without each and every one of you. I've moved to Austin, have started at Texas Heart & Vascular and I've already started noticing the knowledge and preparation I got from PrepMD coming in handy even in training.
After working in hospitals and acute cardiac care for over 25 years I was looking for a flexible online learning solution to advance my career. A coworker told me about the Passport Series and I leaped at the chance. The challenging content is made interesting and exciting to learn with hours of available lectures, easy study quizzes and games.
What I liked most about attending the workshop is the hands-on experience with the programmers and simulated patients. Also, having Greg, Susan, Kyle, and Amanda to really answer a multitude of questions and getting each of their perspectives on their own experiences in the field.
The amount and quality of content truly blew me away and I would recommend the resource to anyone from seasoned hospital and clinic staff to new graduates wanting to get their foot in the door in this exciting and growing field.
Upon completion of the online solution I felt very prepared for certification and these careers and was able to secure a position as a cardiac remote monitoring associate. I am so thankful to be taking care of cardiac patients everyday.
You can review any concept until you understand it on your own time without deadlines or Zoom calls. It's total freedom to work on the content at anytime to review, retake quizzes and/or listen to lectures with no pressure. I logged in for 15-20 hours per week on average.
The flexibility and independence is the primary reason for signing up for Passport. It is very easy to logon anywhere at anytime to study for a while. It is also a good fit due to the content being easy to understand, even as we get into the advanced concepts.
What I like most about the Passport Series Online Learning Modules is the video lessons and the ability to retake and reuse the quizzes to solidify concepts.
Although it was nerve wracking, the thing I liked best about the workshop was being forced to speak on concepts in front of the group which was very helpful and created a greater mastery of the subject matter.

Learning Bundle Overview: The Passport Series CRM Pathway online learning material is divided into two bundles with 5 months access to each. Bundles 1 and 2 are completed prior to attending a workshop which can all be completed in only 3-5 months. When purchasing Bundle 2, the user maintains access to Bundle 1, providing the flexibility of a full ten months of access to the online material, if needed. This Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) bundle assumes no prior knowledge of the cardiac space, beginning with foundational lessons in anatomy and rhythm analysis and progresses all the way to advanced concepts and virtual clinical rotations.
Individuals will build a strong conceptual and practical understanding of cardiac rhythm management, including the diseases and treatments used such as implantable pacemakers and defibrillators. Whether you are transitioning from an adjacent field or starting fresh in your cardiac career, you will achieve a comprehensive understanding of the cardiac rhythm management diseases and treatments. You will retain 5 months access to each learning bundle and experience virtual clinical rotations with accompanying instruction outlining these procedures and the key procedural roles and responsibilities of the cardiac clinical specialist working for a medical device company and a cath lab tech working for a healthcare system.
Learning Modalities: Video Lessons and their accompanying Knowledge Checks, Checkpoints that highlight key concepts, Postcard Puzzles to improve visual memory, 3D interactive Virtual Tours, and Milestones that allow you to assess your comprehension and critical thinking for the entire course.

Workshops encompass onsite lectures and concept review, simulated laboratory and clinical follow-up scenarios, virtual clinical rotations, and rigorous written and practical assessments. The learning experience includes classroom settings, Rivertek and Mentis simulations, CIEDs and CIED programmers of every major vendor, and virtual case observations. Workshops are overseen by CCDS-certified personnel and individuals will be continuously assessed for proficiency.
The 1-month CRM workshop is the most comprehensive option for those interested in taking their career to the next level. The objective of the 1 month CRM workshop is to give individuals an opportunity to prepare for cardiac device specialist roles at a device manufacturer or healthcare system or clinic by providing extensive hands-on learning. This workshop is designed for extensive practical application of previously acquired concepts, and as such is not intended to be an individual’s first foray into the material. Attendees will receive intensive practical learning opportunities and scenario-driven simulations. Each week focuses on a different therapy: brady, tachy, CRT, and capstone. Workshop attendees will build off of concepts from online learning in ECG/EGM workshops, hands-on programmer follow ups with simulated patients, and group projects. Daily and weekly assessments are included to help track progress and understanding of the concepts.
Systematic pacemaker follow up process
ICD programming tachy parameters for different patient profiles
CRT considerations and addressing CRT non-response
Recognizing and programming CIED algorithms
Advanced CIED troubleshooting and differential diagnosis
Remote monitoring technology, workflow, and special considerations
Current state of the CRM space and emerging technologies
Ongoing daily and weekly assessments
The 2-week CRM workshop is for those who want to gain additional hands-on experience and have an opportunity to be assessed by PrepMD Professionals in both Brady and Tachy therapies. The first week will focus on pacemaker follow-up, while the second will focus on ICD follow-up. The workshop is a fast-paced, hands-on learning opportunity designed to help individuals prepare for their career and receive direct feedback on readiness and other recommendations focused on conceptual learning, possibly staying for the full 1-month workshop or returning for a second workshop session. Daily and weekly assessments are included to track progress through the covered concepts.
